Endless Modes - Modal jam tracks for practicing musician.

35 MP3 Audio files (including short and long jams for single mode jams)

The endless joy of jamming the modes.
I created these jams over 5 years ago and been using these as part of my guitar lessons with students ever since. They are great for modal jams and for many practicing purposes.

Each jam is in tempo of 73,5 bpm. Perfect tempo for forgetting yourself and entering the world of each modes.

To enhance the color of each mode, I’ve used some additional chords, little sequencing synth parts, colorising pads etc to make each mode a bit easier to dive into. Typically the bass rides on just the root note while you will hear all kind of supporting sounds making your jams more enjoyable and fun. Since each mode is in same tempo and uses same instrumentation it’s easy to compare and hear the differences between each mode.

Note: If you're my student, or buy a lesson from me, you will get these Mp3's as part of your next lesson purchase.

B Locrian

Jams in key of A

A Ionian
 (major scale)
A Dorian

APhrygian

A Lydian

A Mixolydian
A Locrian

Since we had already Aeolian (minor scale) in A. I created Aeolian in F# as a bonus.

In addition to basic mode jams there’s mode changes:

MODE CHANGES

I’ve prepared 7 great mode change -jams for you. How these changes work? We go back and forth between two modes/keys. For example Mixolydian in G, then 8 bars of Lydian in A. Then back to Mixolydian in G…

Aeolian A - Dorian A
Aeolian F# - Dorian A
Dorian A - Mixolydian A
Lydian A - Ionian A
Mixolydian A - Lydian A
Mixolydian G - Lydian A
Phryrian A - Lydian A

I’ve found mode changes absolutely brilliant for two things.
1) Really hearing the differences between modes.
2) Mastering chord changes in your improvisation. These mode changes are quite dramatic and very sweet sounding. But to make it sound good, you really got to be there with your playing when the change happens. Other wise...game over :D

These change jams are quite relaxed, but they will make you focus playing with the tracks

Beware
: there is not explanation and lessons here how to play the modes or how they work. Contact me for private lessons if you need help.
I might work on downloadble lesson material later on, let me know if it sounds interesting.
